Father Joseph C. Martin - the great addiction therapist, passed away yesterday.
His death gives us the sad opportunity to look closer at the issue of addictions.
In my opinion any kind of attachment is nothing more but a form of idolatry.
People get into it as soon as they forget about the Creator. It's easy because one can not live without God.
Simply, if there is no place for the real God in our life, we erect an idol to fill the gap. It's not only the easiest but also the most dangerous way of acting.
Pray to the Lord frequently, and He will provide you with an understanding that He is the only God.
