Two Springs

Me at Lourdes, August 2011
Some people are distrustful or even disrespectful toward Mary, thinking that she –  in some mysterious way – competes with her Son.

What they overlook, though, is that God, the Holy Spirit, reached man through both Christ and Mary.

In fact you can't have One without the Other; this point can be well-proven in connection to the following fact that may provide both disabled and able-bodied visitors to Lourdes with strong confidence:

The Immaculata showed us all the famous French healing spring only because God had shown to her an inexhaustible Spring of all Graces, the most merciful Child Jesus, before!

On Two Kinds of Dreams(Thank You)

While at shrine of Lourdes, many of us, disabled people, would like to be granted with the grace of good health. The physical well-being, what can easily be understood, is of the great importance for almost each & every human being. That is a common dream of many.
We know, however, that there is some other dimension to one's health, namely the spiritual one. Mary, the gentlest of all mothers, loves us so much that sometimes -- thinking about the greatest dream of both Jesus & His co-sufferers -- grants some of Her children with cure for their souls. Thank you, my dear Mother!

Beyond our Understanding (be Patient)

The concept of mercy is often simplified and associated with <<obtaining something that, as we think, would make us happy here and now -- namely in this life.>>

The Divine Mercy, however, seems to operate differently: I think that this Phenomenon can't be appreciated until a human being  is totally opened to  (and grateful for) whatever God the Father may intend for them....
Amid all the sufferings we should be aware that Our Lord wants to see us,  His beloved and happy children, in Heaven someday. Only this counts.

St. Bernadette, the patron Saint of this day, had known this from the time of her childhood, and that's why later -- when the Grace came -- she could listen, without any fear or resentment, to the words of wisdom
that the Mother of Mercy, Mary  privileged her with:

"I don't promise to make you happy in this world but in the other."

Echa Lourdes(PL)

The Spring: how to get cured

Today we celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. Here mentioned, famous site of Mary's apparition-- the small town of Lourdes-- attracts thousands of pilgrims each year; among them, of course, are many cure-seekers.

Fortunately, not all of them are focused on their physical well-being while making their way to above-mentioned, well-known Pyrenean sanctuary. Some people want above all the everlasting health for themselves and for their neighbours. And only these are really wise.
For water from Lourdes' spring will help no one unless it is mixed with Water from the Spring of Mercy and Faith that flowed out of Jesus' Heart about 2000 years ago.
Moreover,  unless we drink from the latter Spring, there will be no use of our health, plans or hopes.

Our Lady of Lourdes, pray that we all -- people affected by spiritual, mental and physical disabilities-- may be cured in the most perfect manner. Cured to live forever for your Son,  not for our worldly dreams.
